Carry a memory with you to eternity

There is a legend -

after you die, God will take you down a long corridor.
On both sides of the promenade, the pictures of your life are constantly playing like movie screens.
God will let you choose three people to accompany you in your new life after watching them.
If it were this moment, who would you choose?

I have asked this question to some people.
In fact, the purpose is simple, nothing more than to hear the other party say: I will choose you.
The intention is too obvious, and it is easy to be detected, so I often get my wish.

I know in my heart that this is mostly a white lie.
I don't want to get into it, how should I choose?

After you have loved, hated, and turned upside down,
what is the memory that you can't give up in your entire life?

The rhythm of the movie is unhurried, the plot is gentle and absurd; the
scenery is always beautiful, the sun is warm or the sky is full of snow;
I can't forget one of the passengers, the old grandmother, the fat and lovely grandmother,
sitting in the small courtyard full of afternoon sunshine and making memories The most beautiful thing, but dozed and
confused with a child-like happy expression, closed eyes and smiled gently
The flowers blooming around
me are like the heaven in my reverie...

7/10. Facing such false propositions as life, death, soul, it was Hirokazu Edema who directly took a questionnaire survey. Looking for memory fragments here is only as a narrative motivation, suppressing the gloomy lighting, ignoring the dialogue of the soundtrack and ambient sound, long shots + large scenes, and daily trivial matters that are not important to the main line of the narration. Use the camera to observe the subtle expressions of the characters. And mood changes, and piggyback on the filmmaking itself. Blame me that I don't like the scattered recording style.

One stop before the Kingdom of Tears, what memory fragments will you choose to leave behind? What elements will you discard to reorganize to reproduce the experience of memory? Isn’t the experience of a complete movie myth, and as an angel who is left behind due to difficulty or unwillingness to choose, will it be? Willing to give up the memory of angels to enter the kingdom of heaven in the future is like a chess game that was intentionally destroyed at the end, aren’t we just choosing to give up the fragments that we don’t want to accept in the long journey of life?

After Life quotes

  • Kenji Yamamoto, who wants to forget his past: Say I choose a memory, from when I was eight or ten years old. Then I'll only remember how I felt back then? I'll be able to forget everything else? Really? You can forget? Well, then that really is heaven.
