The Listening Girl is a remake of the French "The Belliers". She can continue the glory of her previous release in France to the current "Listening Girl", which is inseparable from the storytelling skills of the director and screenwriter. Someone said: "I think the heroine can enter Berkeley, just like this film can enter the Oscar. It's unbelievable." From my own perspective, I believe that the saying "the layman sees the fun, the insider sees the door" is always true. I think what she excels in this film is that she tells a good story, and also tells a good story, the story focuses on Ruby, the only hearing high school girl in a deaf family, who helps her parents and brother every day. Running a fishing business, after joining the high school choir, Ruby's love for singing moved the music teacher, who decided to let Ruby choose between her dream and her family. The story is relatively simple. In short, it contains elements of humanistic care and youthful pursuit of dreams. However, the combination of shots in the film makes the narrative smoother and more natural. The background music in the film is rarely used, and the whole plot flow is seen on the surface. Like some noodles, it ended safely, but its stamina firmly grasped the hearts of the audience. The card position of each turning point of the story was so precise. When the parents went to watch Ruby's music performance, the sudden silence made people cry instantly. Eyes, there is a kind of heart suddenly hit the feeling. It's probably the same as being there. The whole film starts with the only girl with normal hearing in a deaf-mute family. The story is warm and the ending is bright and perfect. After watching it, I feel that it is a chicken soup movie. The movie is all about humanistic care and youthful fearlessness and the courage to pursue dreams. It also enables everyone to pay more attention to and care for the disadvantaged groups at the grassroots level. "The Listening Girl" is worth watching. After watching it, I feel that everything in the film is very natural, the texture is strong, and the color tone is also very eye-catching. The warm scenes in it are also very good at the audience.

CODA quotes

  • Frank Rossi: The song you sang tonight. What was it about?

Ruby Rossi: It was about... what it is to need another person.

Frank Rossi: Can you sing it for me?

  • Ruby Rossi: [signing] Did you ever wish I was deaf?

Jackie Rossi: [signing] When you were born, at the hospital, they gave you a hearing test. And there you were, so tiny and sweet, with those electrodes all over you. And I... prayed that you would be deaf. When they told us that you were hearing, I felt... My heart sank.

    Ruby Rossi: [signing] Why?

Jackie Rossi: [signing] I was worried that we wouldn't connect. Like me and my mom, we're not close. I thought I would fail you. That being deaf would make me a bad mom.

Ruby Rossi: [signing] Don't worry. You are a bad mom for so many other reasons.

    [They laugh]
