Finding answers to life in movies

To be honest, we don't know how to deal with the problems the heroine encounters in the movie in real life, and how to deal with the conflicts between the family and ourselves. I think the movie is more or less inspired.

The movie tells a story completely, without surprising turning points, and the story transitions smoothly. The story is told, it is a good movie! There is warmth everywhere, and it is not divorced from real life. It is very good. It is not exaggerated to cry, but there are frequent flashes of tears.

Ruby Rossi: It was about... what it is to need another person.

Frank Rossi: Can you sing it for me?

  • Ruby Rossi: [signing] Did you ever wish I was deaf?

Jackie Rossi: [signing] When you were born, at the hospital, they gave you a hearing test. And there you were, so tiny and sweet, with those electrodes all over you. And I... prayed that you would be deaf. When they told us that you were hearing, I felt... My heart sank.

    Ruby Rossi: [signing] Why?

Jackie Rossi: [signing] I was worried that we wouldn't connect. Like me and my mom, we're not close. I thought I would fail you. That being deaf would make me a bad mom.

Ruby Rossi: [signing] Don't worry. You are a bad mom for so many other reasons.

    [They laugh]
