"Hearing Girl", as the best picture at the 94th Academy Awards, tells the story of the heroine Ruby, the only normal person in a deaf-mute family, making a choice between her dreams and her family.
For "The Listening Girl" to win the Oscar for best picture, I think it is well deserved. The simple story is worthy of people's thinking, and it reflects social problems.
On the family side, the scene that stood out to me the most was when the Ruby family came to hear Ruby's chorus, and when the camera panned to them, the music disappeared. This is the movie's best moment, where the director deliberately removes the music to make us feel deaf and feel what the Ruby family feels like. When the chorus ended, the Ruby family also applauded with the audience, but the frequency of the applause was different from others. When the audience was moved to tears by Ruby's voice, they found that Ruby did have a strong voice. Musical strength also decided to send her to Berkeley College to study music and pursue her dream.
This film made me see the importance of family, and the most important thing is to pay attention to the deaf people.
