And they put the cart before the horse a bit, and directly use Pinyin as the output text. The advantage is that a small number of symbols can achieve the function of recording text. And as long as you recognize the 28 symbols, Korean can be read fluently whether you understand it or not.
However, with the development of informatization, the geometric multiple of new vocabulary has increased, which has led to a sharp increase in the number of national words in phonetic characters, while Korean is expressed in pinyin, which has different meanings but the same pinyin, which is easy to cause misunderstandings. Coupled with the rise of the nouveau riche in South Korea in recent decades, the removal of Chinese characters has become serious. In recent years, the younger generation is even more unfamiliar with Chinese characters. However, facing the crisis of writing, Korean scholars are also advocating returning to the basics and strengthening the learning of Chinese characters.
By the way, there is a similar situation in European and American English. It is said that the amount of all words in Shakespeare’s time was only more than 1w, and now it has reached more than 500w, and it is still growing. Although English also has roots, the amount of new words is still too fast. For example, Jeremy Lin, who played the world in the Knicks before, produced Linsanity (insanity originally means crazy). For example, Chinese characters are distinguished by attributes, and meat can include pork, beef, snake meat, etc., and there is also a general term for meat in English, but pork is called pork. When I was studying, filling in the blanks in grammar was very frustrating, and there were similar synonyms to choose from. In this way, in the information age, the explosion of new vocabulary is not conducive to learning.
In fact, there are some situations in Japan, but they use the coexistence of pseudonyms and Chinese characters, which is relatively clever. In fact, Asian cultures are deeply influenced by Tang culture, and it is difficult to truly achieve complete phonetic writing.
