Under the recommendation of the pomegranate woman, I bought the book of the Naples tetralogy, and also read the HBO adaptation of "My Gifted Girlfriend", which is the story in the first book. I watched the drama first, and to be honest, I think the story told is very plain, and the emotions in it sometimes make me feel inexplicable. Under these circumstances, I started reading, the first "My Gifted Girlfriend" was 352 pages, I read it in 38 days, and the second "The Story of a New Name" 484 pages, I read it in 11 days, and can't wait I mean, it's beautiful.
I'm a slow reader, but the second part was so fast because I couldn't put it down. Although it is still a very plain narrative, like the turbulence hidden under the calm sea, the plain language is the pain and struggle from the bottom of the society.
Whether it is the recommendation of the pomegranate woman or the promotional text on the girdle, it is said that this book is about the great friendship between women, and the main line of the story is indeed this. However, what really touched me and generated a lot of feelings came from the inferiority and powerlessness that people at the bottom of the society could never get rid of when they tried to change their fate, as well as the power of real women. This is also where I take a lot of notes, as it often reminds me of some of my own experiences.
