Movies for novels

When I was in college, I read this book like all young literary and artistic young people. It was very shocking and pleasant to read at that time. I also looked forward to making it into a movie, but when I really learned about the filming, I began to subconsciously drop my hopes. To the smallest, so that no matter what kind of results you see, you will be pleasantly surprised.

In fact, it is not meaningful to compare the original novel with the movie, because the sense of picture brought by reading the novel is based on the premise of their own experience. Everyone who reads the book will have various understandings and assumptions. Intuitive experience determines its uniqueness and irrefutable, simply accept all the experiences it brings from the beginning. So, I watched this slightly Vietnamese "Norwegian Wood" with an open mind, and it felt pretty good.

Before, I was not optimistic about the typical Japanese-style facial acting skills used by the male lead, which is why I couldn't watch Japanese movies at all. I was surprised that this big capitalist country has always been stubborn in acting and refused to integrate with international standards. . But it is obvious that the director's training is good, and each character earnestly completes the mission they need to complete. Naoko is an actor who has played a major role in international movies. Compared with most Japanese actors, it is already very outstanding. Even the male protagonist, an out-and-out Japanese student, cast aside the burden of idols to perform. It can be seen that what the actors lack is really not acting, but a script worth investing in.

There is one biggest regret - why is there no bridge section when Watanabe and Midoriko are drinking on the roof when a nearby building suddenly catches fire? In fact, the novel has been read for several years, and the content has been almost forgotten, but this paragraph with strong expressionism has always been impressive. In my opinion, this is a very good part of the novel, and I have not been able to read it. It's a shame to see it materialize. If I were the director, I'd definitely keep this scene, but maybe it'll be included in the director's cut suit?
