"Mourning and sorrow are not for talking and crying, but for fighting against forgetting"

2017 / France / same-sex drama / Robin Campillo / Naville Perez Biscait Arnold Valois

The movie I watched today at 120 BPM fits this theme very well.

In fact, I think the reason why this movie won the award is because it tells a sad story that is not as sad, so despairing, and so uncomfortable to watch; on the contrary, it tells a very calm, very rational, feel act up is a disciplined organization, although some activities are more radical, but from the perspective of planning, discussion, and debate, they are full of emotions and sparkling with rational light, which can bring hope and courage to people. Even the movie poster feels like a joy, like celebrating something.

Because I live in Paris, I immediately searched Act up Paris's LinkedIn and Instagram accounts after watching the movie and found that the LinkedIn account has only over 100 followers, and the Instagram account has only over 2,000 followers, which is more than I expected. Much less. In any case, because of this movie, I have to pay attention to them, which can be regarded as an expression of silent support.

All lives are worthy of respect, all are worthy of love, and all have the right to happiness and joy. Be touched by the people in the film who spoke out for their own lives, and by their courage in fighting their disease.

Future generations will live healthier, happier, more equal and more dignified lives because of their hard work.

The chairman would like it? The degree of completion is high + the theme is positive, but the Act Up part is really procrastinating, and I really don’t understand why men mainly resolve their grief by having sex with others...
