The eyes of the young priest are pure, like the blue sky. Blood and death are played out from time to time in the daily life of the surrounding world. Killing or being killed seems to be the inescapable fate of two villages of different races. At this time, people's eyes are blank and numb when faced with blood and death. Many tears and cry. The young priest's pure eyes are like the light of the gods, but he grew up in such a village, and the church where he is about to be ordained is powerless to face the villagers who barge in with guns. In his seemingly fearful body, pure goodwill and love, weak but moving, was excommunicated to protect the Albanian girl who was being hunted down. He is really powerless. He escaped from the besieged church with the Albanian girl, but was obstructed and expelled by the girl's tribe. When the girl wanted to go to the outside world with him to find a different life, he was killed by his brother with a gun. The dead girl, the priest is a blank and numb face. He can't change the same fate as the villagers. However, the love of young people of different nationalities is itself a collision with the cruel world. The priest and the girl are from different races and speak different languages. The priest even made a mute because he swore silently for two years. However, kindness and love do not need language. Kindness and love have been revealed in the silent protection.
2. Faces
Photojournalist Alexander has won a Pulitzer Prize for his photography. He was forced to shoot a person in the Bosnian racial dispute photography. In fear and guilt, he had deep doubts and tiredness of his profession, and he wanted to take his lover back to his hometown to settle down. The lover asks for her time and patience as she refuses to go with Alexander out of guilt for her husband. When the lover and her husband met in a hotel, they were shot by a crazy man with a gun, and the husband was instantly changed beyond recognition.
3. Photo
Alexander returns to his hometown, as he did when he left more than a decade ago, and the vendetta between his village and the Albanian village continues. Hannah, the woman he never forgets, is in the Albanian village that is so close but unreachable. Thank you.” When he left, Alexander looked back silently and saw Hannah watching him from the window.
The spectator nature of the photography profession has made him tired and guilty. In his hometown, in the face of vendetta villagers, he is also powerless. Maybe he has not decided to change anything. He just wants to die here. It is not fundamentally different from the outside world he has seen. It will not be better or worse. . But when Hannah's daughter was detained by the people of her village, when Hannah begged him to stop watching and change and treat the girl as her own, he had to do something, and it cost him his life, he died at the guns of their own villagers.
This is a dry land, and all you can see is a grayish-yellow land, and the cracked earth longs for the rain. In fact, the vendetta people here also long for the love of peaceful life and freedom, but they are powerless to change the existing order and reality. When will those longings come to the earth like rain?
When Alexander died, the rain fell, and the dry earth was nourished, but the hatred of the people was not washed away. People from the village where Alexander was chasing the escaped Albanian girl with weapons came to the church.
...
The young priest intends to take the Albanian girl to seek a new life in London, England, where he is going to seek refuge with his uncle. Alexander was his uncle.
Time does not pass, the circle is not round, and the fate of the young priest and uncle from ten years ago has not changed. The three narratives of the film form a circle. In the circle time gives the feeling that time does not pass.
