Eternity and a Day (Greek: Μια αιωνιότητα και μια μέρα) is a 1998 Greek film starring Bruno Ganz and directed by Theo Angelopoulos. The film won the Palme d'Or at the 1998 Cannes Film Festival. The story tells that the poet Alexander, who was suffering from terminal cancer, recalled all kinds of things that happened in his life the day before when he was alone in the hospital waiting to die. The story is composed of many life fragments, which is very meaningful. The film's discussion of the value of life and the thinking of human nature make the audience even more memorable.
