This film has appeared in front of my eyes many times, but most of them appeared in books. Every time I clicked in, I saw a black and white silent film, and quietly exited again (can't stand the "loneliness"). Until one time, when I was browsing the circle of friends, a friend strongly recommended this film, so, yes, I clicked in again, this time I didn't go in and come out as before, but I was patient. I looked at it later... Well, fortunately I didn't quit. Although he had no voice, no plot or no color, he deeply attracted me. It was a kind of shock, a kind of truth, a kind of simplicity, and a kind of innocence. primitive life.

The whole article is about the protagonist running around for food. Maybe for them, if they have food, they are very happy to be alive. The scene that impressed me the most was Nanook wading through the snow, lying on the ice and using two ivory as bait to catch fish; the family went out to look for food, hunt seals, and the dog also aroused the desire to eat meat, Build an igloo.

I was very curious about how a small leather raft could carry so many people, and I also learned that the original record is not chewable (as if something was accidentally exposed), that innocent smile is really good. I'm glad I didn't quit this time, but finished watching it, otherwise I would have missed such a good film again

Nanook of the North quotes

  • Title Card: The shrill piping of the wind, the rasp and hiss of driving snow, the mournful wolf howls of Nanook's master dog typify the melancholy spirit of the North.

  • Robert Flaherty, Director: At last, in 1920, I thought I had shot enough scenes to make the film, and prepared to go home. Poor old Nanook hung around my cabin, talking over films we still could make if I would only stay on for another year. He never understood why I should have gone to all the fuss and bother of making the "big aggie" of him. Less than two years later I received word that Nanook had ventured into the interior hoping for deer and had starved to death. But our "big aggie" become "Nanook of the North" has gone into most of the odd corners of the world, and more men than there are stones around the shore of Nanook's home have looked upon Nanook, the kindly, brave, simple Eskimo.
