good short film

A suicide case involving a whole room of people. Everyone because of their own desires: greed, selfishness, indifference, jealousy. Indirectly, it led to the complete despair of a poor girl at the bottom, just like the girl said in the film: I can't believe in human beings, only in God. The girl finally chooses to commit suicide, and the other side is in stark contrast to those who have sinned without repentance. The reversal at the end is very clever, there is an old saying: Skynet is sparse but not leaking. This film is based on the individual, and reflects the entire society and even the entire human race with a small and broad perspective: don’t think only about yourself, everyone is both an individual and an inseparable and interrelated factor that constitutes a society. Therefore, we must unite and help those in difficulty. people, otherwise it will lead to war. The background of the film is set in the years before the First World War. I believe this is also the director's intention.

An Inspector Calls quotes

  • Arthur Birling: [about his workers] If you don't come down hard on some of these people, they'll soon be asking for the earth.

    Gerald Croft: [obsequiously] That's right.

The Inspector: They might. But it's better to ask for the earth than to take it.

  • [last lines]

Arthur Birling: [hanging up the phone] A girl has died. Suicide. A police inspector is on his way to ask us some questions.
