Favorite 3 episodes this season ranking:
1. E10 Star Mort Rickturn of the Jerri
2. E05 Never Ricking Morty
3. E02 The Old Man and the Seat
Least favorite episode:
E03 One Crew Over the Crewcoo's Morty (I'm sorry i just hate pua, even from rick, that's pure evil even for "that's Rick" standard)
Overall, this season could be going down because it's freaking hard to develop the 2 characters R&M anymore and make the adventures not tiresome for the audience, but I am glad to see they continued with E05 to give some freshness to the show, by making other characters more involved, as well as continuing the core problem - Rick's loneliness and suffering ( and i personally want more Beth!
Thoughts about E10:
One point of view said: "My daughter asked Rick to make a life choice for him, but Rick chose to escape, randomly selected candidates, and deleted the memory after finishing the work. Before opening the memory, Rick was quite interested, thinking that he It is the truth that the deletion is a true and false daughter, but the truth of the deletion is actually: "I am an irresponsible father" "
However I disagree. At first, I would say it seems very irresponsible randomly to swap the clone and the actual daughter. Then i think about it, it actually proves Rick is being responsible for Beth.
it is too much responsibility for one to make a life-changing decision even for me, and even that someone is his own daughter. In this sense, I would say Rick is too responsible as a parent, comparing to some Chinese parents, bc otherwise he would just randomly make one decision for Beth instead of making a clone (proof by contradiction!). As a father he wants Beth to have everything - fulfill his wants to do exciting space adventures, as well as having a family. If she cannot accomplish both at the same time, he will do whatever he can to fulfill her wants, so he made that Beth clone. In a way, it is a kinda reimbursement for himself, because when he faced the same choice - his own interests vs. family responsibility, he chose to escape and abandon his children, and now he is not happy and suffering from the consequences that his family hates(?) him.
Therefore, even though as Rick said what he truly wants is a "space daughter", he does not want his daughter to experience the possible absence in a "happy & regular" family. He may be an irresponsible grandpa (by pua Morty to think he is worthless when he could achieve something? real evil there) but he is not an irresponsible father(to his standard, can't ask more).
Besides, maybe Rick just thinks like me: one Beth is freaking awesome, what about another one? that's double awesome!
Other random thoughts:
How much did Wrangler pay? / Is Wendy's really sponsored?
Jerry - all i can do is say "hey" - maybe that's what Beth needs after all, Beth can do anything, so Jerry's job is to deal with his nonsense and be useless
and Dr.wong, i feel ya everyday
