"12 Warriors"

It was about the 2001 terrorist attack on the United States by al-Qaeda, which surprised the Americans. It was originally known as the most powerful, richest and safest country in the world, but was beaten with a sap. For a time, patriotism in the United States surged. In this situation, the United States invaded Afghanistan. First, Captain Nelson of the Green Berets was sent with 12 people to take advantage of the conflicts between various local warlords and Taliban organizations to jointly deal with the Taliban. In three weeks, they fought a beautiful battle. The film is adapted from real people and stories, telling the story of the battle. It can be seen as a battle example.

This is undoubtedly an American main theme movie. From the patriotic enthusiasm and belligerence of the Twelve Warriors to the commander’s giving out 9/11 shrapnel to Nelson, they are all intended to raise morale to an ideological level, so that the soldiers not only want to be cannon fodder, but also know why they go. Be a cannon fodder, and eventually you must take the initiative to be a cannon fodder willingly. The whole film was quite satisfactory, there was nothing outstanding, and there were no bad scenes. In my opinion, the most visible thing about the film is the truth.

In Afghanistan, there are mountains and deserts. This is a pain for the American warriors, who had to abandon those modern cars and tanks and ride on war horses. The equipment of the 21st century and the battlefield of the 19th century are intertwined, adding a lot of color to the film. The ragged poor, the ventilated thatched hut, and the campfire at night also make friends who love to watch westerns seem familiar. On the battlefield, there are green berets who have received modern education and modernization training, Afghan farmers with Mauser guns on the other, American soldiers hoping to return home after the war, and courageous mobs on the other. The asymmetry was immediately apparent.

In fact, the main task of the 12 warriors is not to charge forward, but to play the role of the forward observation post. According to the close observation of the battlefield, command the B-52 bomber to drop bombs. In the modern warfare commonly conceived by the U.S. military, the B-52 is a strategic bomber, which carries missiles or nuclear bombs for long-range attacks, and carries out carpet bombing on targets, killing and injuring the enemy on a large scale. On the mountainous terrain of Afghanistan, carpet bombing has little effect, and the killing effect is not great, mainly shocking. Looking at the data, the bomb's own lethality is only 3% of the explosion range. But its seismic effect and thunder-like sound will drive opposing soldiers crazy. Even if you are not hit by a bomb dropped by the B-52, just hearing the sound can make people creepy. After the bombing was over, the ground troops entered the battlefield to clean up the mess. The scene of the 12 warriors rushing into the enemy line regardless of life and death as described in the film seems to be a bit exaggerated.

Look at the equipment again. American soldiers in Afghanistan weigh 53 kilograms and carry 420 rounds of ammunition in addition to protective equipment. The entire set of outfits is worth 36,000 U.S. dollars. A set of night vision equipment for special forces is worth $60,000. Such equipment is very suitable for defensive warfare and positional warfare. If you launch an offensive, think about it, those soldiers are like carrying a bank safe of more than 100 catties on their backs to charge. They only breathe after running a few steps. Therefore, the offensive speed and effectiveness of the ground forces are doubtful.

In the film, the warlord Dustum, who cooperated with the US military, said to Nelson: "There are many people above you, and there are only gods above me." It was true. He stated the mental state of Muslims in the Islamic world. In different religious beliefs, people's worship of idols varies greatly. Jesus Christ did not teach people how to kill people. Shakyamuni advised people to do good. Our Confucianism is more gentle, courteous and frugal. Only Islam is more extreme and aggressive. As shown in the film, saying that women cannot be educated, want to eliminate infidels, etc. are all from the "Quran". Just as "The Analects" is a collection of speeches by Confucius, the "Quran" is actually a collection of speeches by Muhammad. The difference is that the "Analects of Confucius" received many intellectual groups. They regarded Confucius as "the most holy ancestor". While accepting Confucius' ideas, they also rationally discarded the unreasonable parts, such as "Only women and villains are difficult to raise", "I'm not as good as an old nursery" and so on. The readers of the "Quran" are mostly ordinary people who have not received much education. They believe in "Allah is the supreme ruler, and Muhammad is his messenger." The Quran is their spiritual source. One sentence in the "Quran" is one word. What is reasonable or unreasonable law is not law, just follow it. So from Roman times, to resisting the Crusaders, to today, they have been rebelling against most ethnic groups in the world. Among them, there are the resistance of the weak against the strong, and there are also blind killings. No progress has been seen for thousands of years.

When I think about it, it's the same in the United States. After 9/11, there was a frenzy of patriotism in American society. The American people's fear of violence, high sense of honor, patriotism and heroic sacrifice are indeed admirable! However, few people have ever wondered: Why did such a large-scale terrorist attack target the United States in the first place? Who gave you the qualifications of the United States as a "world policeman"? I do not deny that people in the United States still fully enjoy the stability, freedom and happiness brought about by democracy. However, internationally, the United States has become accustomed to bullying people. Anything that does not suit its tastes, it will use big sticks, engage in color revolutions, engage in economic sanctions, and engage in regime subversion. After all, they are using bullying to seek their own interests. How is this different from the behavior of those Islamic extremists? Even if you become a policeman, you don't have the power to enforce the law indiscriminately, and of course you have to be prepared for the cost. In fact, what those extremists oppose is not the current system in the United States and the Western world, but the use of evil methods to punish evil. If people do not reflect on this point, there will never be peace in this world.

At the end of the film, Nelson said to Dostum in the voice of the boss: "You made the right choice." Fortunately, apart from being a warlord, Dostum was a rare clear-headed person. He did not hesitate to say to Nelson: "The right choice? There is no such thing. This is Afghanistan, the cemetery of many empires. Today is a friend, and tomorrow is an enemy, even if you are the same. The United States will be here. Another ethnic group. If you leave, you will be cowards, and if you stay, you will be our enemy." The final facts proved that the United States chose the "coward" path.

The scenery of the film is very good, even in this place where the birds do not shit, the poetry of "the desert is dusty and the sun is faint" is also filmed. The battle scenes were also very well filmed, all of which were real and tragic.

My score: 7.0.
