the Gentle Eli

Like the name, the Sisters Brothers. There is contradictory in it.

The most memorable episode was that Charlie's arm was cut off, and the people who were chasing them rushed to him immediately, and Eli went out to respond alone with two guns. After Eli killed the last of the three people who came to chase them, he turned and returned to the house. The few seconds of the back shot made me cry. Eli is supposed to be agile, sturdy and sharp in one-to-three, but the figure from the back is slumped shoulders, slightly bent back, bare feet, walking even a little fat man shaking, looking tired and bloated. It looks like the back of the father who climbed up the platform written by Zhu Ziqing.

The cowboys turned and threw themselves into the arms of their mothers, looking for the only warmth in the slaughter and barbarism; the western era also embraced civilization and industry, and perished in the completed mission.

Establishing a system in the wilds can eliminate the need for sentry; in civilization, stay away from greed to gain freedom. Learn to brush your teeth and flush toilets, your lifestyle is evolving; to unlock the shackles and trust fetters, the emotional core does not need to evolve. What's happy is not to get a full basket of gold, but to make a happy drink by the dry pine wood bonfire. It is not the loss of an arm that is sad, but a deep bond with a sick horse. It turns out that the most memorable things are always trivial things.

The Sisters Brothers quotes

  • Eli Sisters: [riding along] Hey, have you noticed how long it's been since anyone tried to kill us?

Charlie Sisters: I don't know. Three or four days?

Eli Sisters: Don't you find that strange?

  • Eli Sisters: I must confess, that the very happiest moments of my life have been spent in the wilderness of the far west, with the plentiful supply of dry pine logs on the fire.

    [...]

Eli Sisters: I would sit cross legged, enjoying the genial warmth, and watch the blue smoke as it curled upwards. Scarcely did I ever wish to change such hours of freedom for all the luxuries of civilized life.
