This movie was still recommended to me by my friend Xiaoxiao’s brother, who said that another Chinese translation of the movie is called “All the Evil People”.
After watching it, I have to admire the translation of the subtitles team. The two titles are too appropriate, "All the Evil Men". In the end, I found that there is really no good person. As the saying goes, the mantis catches the cicada, and the oriole is behind. It's the eagle behind the oriole, and the hunter behind the eagle... Anyway, until the end, you can't guess how many people will die. In the story of intrigue, you can't remember how many people died, but it is in line with Kitano Takeshi. The old man's consistent style is simply the 20 fancy ways of dying in the gang. After reading it, I feel that Japan is really unsafe, and even eating noodles can meet the plot of gangsters cutting people's fingers.
The other translation, "Extremely Evil and Immoral" is even more appropriate. In the gangster films I watched in the past, all the gangsters must be righteous and loyal when they speak. But in this film, it is nakedly declared that the old-fashioned gangster era is over. When his subordinates used the method of cutting their little fingers to seek forgiveness from the boss, the boss told him that this method is no longer popular. I remember a sentence before the movie. The gang leader said that he would let his subordinates go to his own sworn brother's territory to do things. His subordinates were confused and asked, isn't he your sworn brother? The boss said meaningfully, the righteousness is just a form.
Takeshi Kitano is worthy of being a generational genius.
