Reminds me of a Greek film I watched at the Beijing International Film Festival before. But this one is stronger.
They are all concerned with social phenomena, but I don't want to define this simply as reflection or anything.
The category of movies I guess is nothing more than that.
What stories to tell and how to tell stories, whether artistic or commercial or experimental, we are all using different techniques to tell possibly similar subjects and cross-sections. Narrative may not be the only focus in a film, but the combination of shots can make sense.
The more time passes, the more I understand the movies that I look forward to and favor. The construction and use of symbols is a must, and the language of the shots also reflects the style and even the category or viewing group.
But in short, no conceptual themes, no melodic films that I can't remember, "Graduate Exam" is clearly thematically, textually and edited to my mouth.
And the long lens plus the breathing handheld fix is my favorite rhythm.
Writing this just to complain to myself.
I think this is one of my best of the year. It's a pity that I only saw it in 2017. See you late. Ha ha
