The story begins with an elderly marriage crisis. The man's name is Victor, a book illustrator. Four years ago, after he was laid off due to the decline of the publishing industry, he lived in retirement, reading books every day, eating and waiting for death. All of this, in the eyes of his wife, Mariana, is getting more and more annoying. She describes Victor as a bad old man who has no hope for society, will not make any progress in life, is useless, and is very annoying. In the face of his wife's vitriol, Victor may be really old, too lazy to quarrel, too lazy to argue, and the forbearance is over. Only once he failed to hold back, he was a little bit mad at Marianne, and was swept out of the house. Victor actually knew very well that the main problem was with him.
