For the second season of True Detective, due to the change of the whole setting, it is inevitable that people will not think of the wire. If you only watch the first 4 or 5 episodes, you will not know where the dividing line is. The show is really on par with the wire, but the ending of this show is what I can only describe as terrible.
Because the element of Cthulhu was added to the setting of the first season of True Detective, and in the first few episodes, the two people were talking about life, I was too lazy to understand anyway. In the first season, the two people had An obvious watershed, and in the second season, the screenwriter's story is repeated, and several protagonists have experienced another obvious watershed in the plot.
I personally think that the first season of True Detective is relatively simple. The first part uses a lot of meaningless conversations to introduce the characters, while the second season's character conversations have a lot of bad jokes, and the development of the plot is relatively straightforward.
The method of the first season is not the first. A large part of the Karamazov brothers are talking about things that are not related to the plot. This method can often bring people a sudden surprise when the plot really unfolds.
The first season of True Detective may have relied on this method, and with the addition of the camera and the soundtrack, it became enough to move people.
But in the second season, it is obvious that the first part has been paved, the successful characterization, the occasional bad jokes, but all disappeared in the second half. Obviously the screenwriter can't make up a complete story, and in terms of showing the whole background conspiracy, I can't remember so many names anyway.
Especially when the prosecutor reconvened the three of them, it felt a little far-fetched. Until the end, it felt like a very contrived plot for the Mexicans to ask the boss for a suit, and most importantly, there was no cold joke in the second half.
I originally thought that the characters in the second season might be a little dark because of the first season, but I found out that this is actually the writer's reason. Sometimes it is really difficult to be optimistic. The wire gives people the feeling of being very optimistic. . But the few people in the second season of True Detective who know what happened anyway, everyone started to roll up their sleeves, settle their families and then go to self-sacrifice.
From the first season, you can see the talent of the screenwriter, but in the second season, you can clearly see that the screenwriter has run out of talent.
The only feeling I felt after watching this show was disappointment, because when I first started watching it, I thought this show would definitely surpass the first season, and it must be a good show, but the ending was really bad.
