This is "Womb" The first sentence (a narration) in Eva Green is also the second film I've watched, the first being "Dream of Paris".
How much influence do childhood experiences have on a person? How does a child behave to suit his age? It was a very simple encounter by the sea, there was not even a single dialogue, and some were just an inadvertent meeting of eyes. This was the acquaintance of Rebecca and Tommy. Their acquaintance is also doomed to Rebecca's painful and tangled life.
One is a lonely little girl who was adopted at grandpa's house, and the other is a little boy who is often chased and beaten by people around them. They all have similar feelings and experiences - loneliness, and they all long for someone to accompany them. It is precisely because of this that the encounter between Rebecca and Tommy is so important to the two of them. It is like two little ants floating in the sea. They each found a leaf and must catch them desperately. Just stay and lean on it.
You must know that Rebecca is going to Tokyo soon, and they will be separated soon, but some emotions do not necessarily have to be cultivated through time, such as the relationship between Rebecca and Tommy. A brief interdependence is enough to be remembered for a lifetime. After 12 years Rebecca returns from Japan to find Tommy where she met Tommy, "hi, Tommy."..."How is it in Japan". This is the first sentence they meet again after 12 years, they are so connected. According to the development of the story, they must be together, although Rebecca said it was strange. But everything that should have happened happened, it was inevitable. If it keeps developing like this, this story doesn't seem to be good, although this is a love story between a top female student (goddess) and a male cockroach farmer (diaosi), why is it so smooth? The turning point came when Tommy and Rebecca went to deliver the six packs. Tommy was hit by a car. The two people who had just met for a long time were separated again. This time it seemed that they were separated forever, except for the snail that Tommy left to Rebecca that should have been given to her 12 years ago, and the writing at that time. A note "I will wait for you forever".
If it is said that there is a possibility that we will meet again after the first separation, even if Rebecca writes "I will wait for you forever" for the second separation, there is no hope. But the grieving Rebecca did not give up, she persuaded Tommy's parents to copy a new "Tommy". Even Tommy's parents, who didn't believe in gods, had a hard time accepting the proposal, but in the end they agreed and left their hometown for most of their lives. Rebecca gave birth to a new "Tommy" and let him grow up on the beach before, but this time, she became his mother. A woman who will do whatever it takes to see her lover again seems to have had two layers of affection for him from the moment the baby is born, and as the new Tommy grows up, her emotions become more and more complex to the point that she will. Confuse whether this is his son or the husband he likes. When she sees new Tommy having a girlfriend, she will have mixed feelings, not knowing what kind of emotion she should use to face it. Finally, in an ambiguous frolic between mother and son, new Tommy smells the strangeness and finally discovers the secret.
The original Tommy is happy, he is waiting for the person he loves the most. But new Tommy is not so lucky. In addition to the love of Rebecca, he also has the incomprehension and discrimination of the neighbors around him. It's so sad that I don't know how to deal with my emotions when I grow up.
We can't blame Rebecca for being selfish here, thinking she made a clone just to keep Tommy around. After all, no one wants to accept the loss of a loved one. But let's think about it, can we be with our lover all our lives? People will lose what they love in their life, and letting go seems to be a correct choice. This is good for those who stay and those who lose.
It's over, I'll tell you forever, it doesn't matter if you don't respond. Just because you're gone doesn't mean you don't exist, maybe I just need this gift, the last gift you left me.
Just let it go when it's time to let go. Isn't this a redemption for oneself? It's over, it doesn't mean it didn't exist.
PS: Eva Green played well. like.
