The other day in Korea, I watched Sacred Death with my best Korean friend. At the end of the film, not only was I moved, but the praise from my Korean friends made me even more gratified. I have been working in Korea for a long time. Whenever I mention Mr. Kim Ki-duk's works to Korean friends, it is always difficult for Koreans to accept it, and it is even more difficult for them to understand my love for Kim Ki-duk.

Koreans really don't like Kim Ki-duk. Presumably because most Koreans think his films are detrimental to the national image of South Korea. Or too cruel...
