During this winter vacation, I saw the news that Kenshin was going to be made into a movie on Weibo. I went to review the manga, and I went to read the reminiscence chapter that I had no impression of. I didn’t know that, I was deeply moved sunk. Watch the full version on Potato with four episodes tied together and it looks as beautiful as the movie.
The two clips are very impressive. The first is the night of the Ikedaya Incident, when the Shinsengumi attacked and the fireflies flying around the Japanese sword became a very unforgettable contrast between movement and stillness. In this section, there are many scenes of the Chief Secretary of Okita, and Ba and Jianxin are blocked by the Xinxuan group at the entrance of the alley, and Jianxin draws his sword and kills in front of Ba. The background music here is very imposing, and Jianxin's handsome swordsmanship is very unforgettable. I saw this passage elsewhere before, which shows that Ba's attitude towards Jianxin's killing is different from that of Xun: Xun will stop Jianxin's killing, while Ba just said a few high-sounding words and watched Jianxin kill. I don't like the saying that at the end of the curtain, if you add Kenshin and don't move the sword, he is the one who will die.
The second segment is that after Ba left Kenshin, Kenshin went to Ba Na in the heavy snow. Suddenly the flying snow in the sky turned into night, the snowflakes flying in the sky turned into dazzling pomegranate flowers, and the snowy road on the ground also turned into a path composed of small lights. On this road, Jianxin recalled the words of the people around him since he and Ba first met, until at the end Jianxin shouted: Let's go to Otsu. The 15-year-old gave all his feelings to Ba.
After reading the reminiscence chapter, the whole person is trapped in a very sad mood, unable to cry, but very uncomfortable. I really want to know more stories about Kenshin and Ba, but despairingly, there are only so many stories between them that Nobuhiro Kazuki showed us.
Although many people are not used to the character settings of the reminiscence chapter after watching the tv version, I think the characters in the reminiscence chapter are more beautiful than the tv version or even in the comics. Kenshin's hair is very soft and closer to reality. , not like the one with edges and corners in the TV version. The voices of Mashi Ryokaze and Junko Iwano, as well as the background music of Taku Iwasaki, are the indispensable contributors to making the reminiscence chapter a classic.
