I watched it today. I was looking forward to it because I liked the first few works of Hosoda Mori, but it is not as good as バケモノの子. . . Mainly because the content is too mediocre, similar to the theme of the previous American movie Baby Boss, like a second child promotion film. But this one is not as good as Baby Boss in my eyes. The main reason is that there is a part in the middle that is too dark, it feels uncomfortable and it doesn't make much sense. I haven't felt particularly amazing watching movies in Japan recently, and I'm quite disappointed. Some of the movies I've watched before are also beautiful, but the new ones are very boring, and I don't know how to evaluate them.
What my friend said is very pertinent. She especially likes girls who travel through time and space, so she has high expectations for this film, but she told me that she felt too bored and wanted to sleep. Of course, she didn't sleep in the end, but it can be seen in her eyes The plot is really not engaging enough. The most important thing is that there is not a little bit of plot that people can't think of, and that little bit of mystery is still deliberately created, and it feels too unnatural to come out of the brain hole. According to my friend, although the director wanted to be beautiful and educational, what he presented to the audience in the end was not so friendly. It was really uncomfortable to watch in many places, especially the crying of children and the sudden loud sound of loudspeakers. Really only fright and no surprise.
My friend gave me a score of about 6-6.5, because the picture is still of a high level of exquisiteness, so I won't give it below 6, but the connotation is too small, there are too many similar films, and it is too old-fashioned.
