He happened to see the one he loved so many years ago who left her without saying goodbye, he followed her to her apartment, but met another woman with the same name, a familiar color, an unfamiliar lover, is it an illusion or a conspiracy, far away In her memory, she was smiling like a flower, and she was close at hand with her charming and charming, entangled in a mysterious apartment. Which one was the beauty he was looking for? How long does it take to fall in love with someone? How selfish and fickle can love be? How many coincidences does it take to have a lover to meet?
The chaotic time and space made the already complicated story even more confusing. I had to work hard to distinguish between reality and dream, and to sort out the causes and consequences. I admire director Gilles Mimouni's ability to navigate complex stories. This style reminds me of 21 Grams. Can't believe this is his only film. The director doesn't care to discuss these subtle relationships with you, he just wants to tell a complex story with freshness and elegance.
The music and pictures of the story are also a mess of beauty. The exquisite and meticulous picture has no traces of carving. The lover who is infatuated with waiting in the vast white snow, the yellow leaves flying all over the sky, the chilling street, and the red high heels. These images are repeated on different occasions in the film, intertwined with the four characters, and become a visual and auditory feast under the beautiful music and smooth editing. Both heroines are amazing. Among them, Monica Bellucci, I have not liked very much before, always feel that she is showing off sexy. But in this movie, her elegance, sensibility and agility completely conquered me. Another heroine, Romane Bohringer, plays the role of helpless evil that people can't hate, but loves her heart. I especially remember her persistent tearful eyes.
I don't know why, in movies and literary works, there is always an indescribable beauty in the love between the same sex. The two heroines in this movie remind me of the blonde Betty and the black-haired Rita in "Mulholland Dr.", and Gigi Leung and Karen Mok in "Heartbeat". From this, I think of Leslie Cheung and Tony Leung in "Springtime", and Hu Jun and Liu Ye in "Blue Yu". All are beautiful stories. However, in this story, homosexuality is only one of its complex feelings. The director understated it, but it is naturally touching. Monica Bellucci, who grew up in Italy, speaks French really well. I can't hear any accent anymore. Not much better than Penélope Cruz's big tongue Spanish French. 2004's "Wicker Park", a Hollywood remake of the film, is said to suck, What do you expect? :-)
