What is the characteristic of Xin Haicheng? Although his animation pictures are extremely stunning, the reason for Xin Haicheng's popularity is not a single picture.
This animation, on the screen, can be said to be very Shinkai Makoto, the delicate background, and the highly iconic Shinkai Makoto-style sky, compared to the previous works, it can be said to be better than the previous works, and the plot of this work is rich. In terms of degree, it is also much higher than before. However, this is a work without soul.
Xin Haicheng's works, whether it is Second Five, The Garden of Words, or her and her cat in the early days, all have one characteristic, that is, extremely delicate psychological depictions. The plot may be ordinary, simple, and bland, but these ordinary things, ordinary people, can resonate with audiences, especially those who are lonely and emotionally delicate.
Makoto Shinkai's style, used as a sketch movie, is amazing. But when used in a drama, it seems out of place. The overly delicate psychological description greatly weakens the structure of the plot. Many plots that were supposed to be small climaxes seem to be calm, and the overly delicate pictures seem overwhelming, and the occasional close-up of the sky makes people inexplicable. Personally, I can't feel a sense of plot substitution at all, and the viewing experience is extremely poor.
The picture and the way of portraying the characters serve the plot after all. If the story is not told well, no matter how good the picture is, it will be in vain.
