I just happened to be reading "Misogyny" recently, so I unknowingly looked at this article from a feminist perspective.
As a film from more than 20 years ago, the traditional family described by Ang Lee has been different from the modern family in my eyes, so can it be understood that the status of women in the family and in society has risen?
This is the most feminist dialogue I have ever seen in the film. The mother-in-law actually felt a lot of sadness about the status of women in her age. When she saw the rise of female consciousness in the new era, her first reaction was envy, but then, she still hoped that the next generation could follow her own path. Although what she said were all words of persuasion for Weiwei, but it was to achieve what she wanted.
The marriage of two people has become a family show.
Ang Lee shows up and says hahaha
