Unlike the American Simon, who is completely independent, the Chinese are always entangled in family feelings, even if they endure pain, even if they yearn for freedom. Filial piety is the bond that maintains the Chinese family, and inheriting the lineage is the most important filial piety. It cannot be said that this is the inferiority of traditional culture, because it is based on this convention, and the moral imprisonment keeps traditional society stable.
