"Walking" is a new work in 2008, the English name is still walking, and some people call this film "The Taste of Yokoyama Family" according to Japanese tradition.
Every role can find its own coordinate system. The strict and old-fashioned grandfather is the one who always wants to make a difference in his career and tries to use his consciousness to control others. Many are alienated from their parents and struggling to survive in society; Yukali is the self who cherishes and misses and bravely faces the new life; the elder sister Qiannami is the self who says, "Just living is enough to make me tired" but walks on solidly. ; Houji is the sensitive and meticulous self who has always lived in childhood; even Junpei, who died 15 years ago, is also the self who was drowned in the sea of people and swept away by time.
The courtyard of the Yokoyama family is a typical Japanese house. The eaves that extend from the Japanese room have a wide view, and the shades of the trees are woven into a net of dark green and light brown to cover the summer. There is also a soundtrack with a slow rhythm but a touch of verve, grabbing Houji's hand to pick the crape myrtle, and playing the final chapter of fate for the pure-play of the butterfly.
Even if there is a vague inheritance relationship with Yasujiro Ozu and Hou Hsiao-hsien, "Never Stop" is placed in the background of the Japanese countryside, isolated from the calmness of the times, and still has a different attraction.
It's good to watch a little boring movie, although life is a boring and dull face.
