The story takes World War II as the background and revolves around Jeddah and his lovers. It is dominated by Jeddah's contradictory psychology and seemingly the same attitude towards life before and after World War II.
In the story, Mia's death made Jida's already hesitant heart even more hesitant, and in the end she still stood on Guy's side. On the surface, she was the lover of a German officer, but in fact she was collecting intelligence. At the critical moment, she laid down countless compatriots, but at the end of the story, she died at the hands of the compatriots who misunderstood him without explaining anything. It reminds me that during World War II, there may have been many more events like this. The ending is sad and war is always cruel! The former friends and lovers are gone, only memories are left.
