After watching the whole film, my personal impressions of this film are as follows:
1. This is the last Bond in the 80s and an elegy from the golden age of action movies. After the 1990s, the 007 series, which relied on real shot special effects and real actions, will face the strong impact of CG special effects ("Terminator 2", "Titanic"). This film caused Timothy to leave due to poor box office, and the next one will arrive in seven years! It is worth mentioning that since "Space City" until this part, the budget has basically been maintained at the same level, after all, the producer is still conservative.
2. The performance of this part is beyond reproach. Even the Bond girls with vases are above the standard. In the film, the role of Bond’s American friend Philip actually appeared in "Life and Death" and was played by the same actor.
3. In the plot, this movie is unprecedentedly subverted. Bond no longer saves the world or conducts espionage activities, and even has no connection with MI6. The focus is on Bond's personal revenge. Bond went to a friend's wedding and arrested the BOSS together. After the BOSS ran away, he retaliated against his friend and killed his friend's wife. So Bond ran away and embarked on the path of revenge for his friend and assassination of the BOSS. On the surface, the plot seems very impactful, but the actual effect is not ideal. Many parts of the plot are perfunctory or unreasonable. For example, Bond’s black friend "Shark", without any foreshadowing and related plot, appeared abruptly and sacrificed in front of Bond; another example is the Hong Kong Drug Enforcement Administration's subordinates. Ninja, and somehow the boss found a hiding spot. The film also somehow blacked out China; for example, Bond is at the BOSS house, there are countless opportunities to kill the BOSS silently, but he did not act, so he had to wait for his identity. It was seen through; and as a big drug lord who can control the president of a country, he did not find that Bond and Philip are friends; the story of the missile trade between the Bond girl and a subordinate of the drug lord is also inexplicable, and there is nothing to the plot. effect. . . . . Although the Bond series has never been known for its plots, such unconcerned plots are also an exception in the whole series. What is even more frightening is that after the first and last action scenes, there is almost no action in the middle of such a long plot. Drama, for an action film in the late 1980s, is simply a disaster, it is difficult to mobilize the audience's emotions.
4. This villain set up a super drug lord in the drug kingdom (the prototype should be the one in the American drama "Drug Lord"), but this drug lord was played around by Bond in the whole film, and there is no previous movie. The villain’s iconic "evil plan", even women have sex with Bond in their own homes. . . . . In the end, he was done without causing any personal injury to Bond, and his performance was called the worst villain in the series! But Benicio de Toro ("Drug Network") is so evil and eye-catching!
5. There are two action scenes in this movie that are quite good to be fair. The first part is simply a reprint of Nolan's "Dark Knight Rises" opening, and the last part of the tank chase scene is magnificent and thrilling. It is a pity that the action is one after another. The interval between the plays is too long, and there are no impressive action scenes in the middle of the plot. A few of the scenes are small but not very exciting. The resulting feeling is that although this action scene has super high quality from one end to the next, the overall feeling is too mediocre.
6. Although revenge is the central event of the film, the hearty revenge conflict that viewers usually experience in the same type of action movie is different (such as "Quick Chase", "Death Speed", "Special Agent Sauter" Etc.), the mood in this film is relatively flat, and there is no such strong dramatic conflict. There is a feeling that Bond is alone on the outside for normal tasks. Even compared to "Quantum Crisis", which has a sparse plot, it is quite inferior. At least the tone of Bond's revenge for Vespa in the whole film of "Quantum Crisis" is always strong.
7. In my personal mind, although the plot of this film has a big problem, it is as boring as "Quantum Crisis", but the quality of the action scenes is far beyond that of "Quantum Crisis", so it ranks ahead of "Quantum Crisis". Although it is difficult for individuals to distinguish between the good and the bad in the same bad plot and ugly scenes of "Diamond", "Dying Another Day" and this movie, after all, "Diamond" has super villains, and the plot of "Dying Another Day" is also more compact. So it ranks 18th out of 24 movies in the series after "Death Another Day".
