The story of "Big Eyes" took place in the 1960s, and an illustration called "Big Eyed Children" became popular. Soon, its author Walter Keane was sued and accused of stealing the works of others, and the other party was Walter's wife Margaret. Margaret said that the big-eyed child's paintings were originally made by her. She is an introvert who paints in the basement every day, while her husband Walter just signs his own name under the paintings for sale. Eventually the marriage of the two broke up. After the incident went to court, the judge asked the two to paint on the spot, and Walter pushed three and blocked four, with constant excuses.

A biopic full of feminist style, with bright colors and full and moving performance by the heroine. The actor's performance is too hard, and the storytelling is too plain.

Uncle Waltz really didn't dare to recognize each other after he lost his beard. What about the feminist awakening? Every painting has such big eyes, it’s pretty sad~~~

Big Eyes quotes

  • Walter Keane: You have an amazing talent. You can look at someone and capture them on canvas. You can paint people. I can only paint things. Yeah, my street scenes are... charming, but at the end of the day, they're just a collection of buildings and sidewalks.

  • Margaret Keane: I think people buy art because it touches them.

Walter Keane: Yeah, you're living in fairyland. People don't get to discover anything. They buy art because it's in the right place at the right time.
