I watched Total Eclipse at night. The Rimbaud played by Xiao Li is sincere, sharp and affectionate, and he is not sloppy. As for Verlaine, a word that is more suitable to describe him is "halfway" in Japanese. He was always running away from something, passion, love, family responsibilities, the words of the world. There were too many contradictions in him, and in the end he couldn't bear it anymore and escaped into religion to be saved. The peace he obtained was an unacceptable compromise for Rimbaud, so Rimbaud would seal his "hands touched by his muse" and travel around the world, but he would not choose to stay with him. This is the end.
There are many sentences in the movie dialogue that people can't wait to memorize, but Xiao Li is as good-looking as Wan Dao Xiaguang. The only regret is that Xiao Li's American voice and David Thewlis's beautiful British voice are slightly different.
