In the imagination, life is a toast, laughing and scolding; in reality, there is no laughter, only scolding. Raising a glass is often silent, laughing and crying.
One hundred years, two brothers, several generations. Stick to a bar for a tradition. But sticking to it until the end turned into paranoia, until the wife and children are separated and the oil is exhausted, it may not understand that what I have inherited has never been a good story.
"This pub was run by brothers Pete and Horace for a hundred years. Until Pete killed Horace. That's the story of Pete & Horace."
Look, it only takes 5 seconds for future generations to introduce this century-old tavern. Until the end, maybe we will start to rethink why Pete was adopted to Horace, why old Pete committed suicide, why Pete would give Horace a knife when he returned to the bar... Maybe all of this is for letting go.
But we can never figure out why there are always half-dead customers in a half-dead bar, talking half-dream, half-dead, half-stupid; that night many years ago, when my mother fled with little Horace and little Sylvia, Why was little Pete filling the water glass like crazy? Could it be that from then on, his life became a black and white painting.
CK taught us that silence does not cure everything. Don't want to feel the life in this tavern, fear and regret, joys and sorrows? Then, only silence after death is the final answer. Life is never that simple, not that easy, not that lucky. To all simple and romantic people: The more you want to keep the years, the years will make you understand that life has a limit, and suffering has no limit.
