Behind Science Fiction is Humanity

When I watched the trailer, I didn't expect too much. The warm rhythm and the editing without a sense of plot exposed the side of this sci-fi drama that is not like a sci-fi drama. But after seeing the main drama, I was surprised and immersed in it.

This is indeed not a hard sci-fi, even as some people complain, it is a family story in sci-fi skin. But all stories are stories that happen to people, telling the dilemmas, highlights and twists and turns that people encounter. This drama uses some sci-fi elements, but in essence it still revolves around people and some fixed propositions, family affection, life, love, responsibility... and the stories told are all quite interesting. Let’s expand a little here and talk about some of my favorite points.

The first story is about a little girl who travels through time. She has a low-end version of the dark and visual sense, but the stone erosion and the future self who traveled through time are all introductions. What I want to express is to cherish the family more. The little girl has a mother who doesn't seem to want to be a mother. She said that if she grows up, she will definitely accompany her children. But when she grew up, she did not seem to be a good mother. The future self suddenly understood something, and became closer to the neglected younger son. This episode kicked off. The quiet narrative rhythm and the empty and beautiful Nordic winter just hit me.

And the beginning of the third episode is even more interesting. The Asian girl is babbling slowly, why is that moment always fleeting. This is a girl entering adulthood, with a mixture of depression and small luck at the end of adolescence. She was confused that time, including her own love, also disappeared after burning. Why doesn't something special always last? The girl's father here may have the answer, and sometimes things are special because they don't last.

I was so impressed with the black episode. This is a person who hopes to pursue love. It can be seen from the lines. When talking about a certain kind of bird, when it comes to this kind of bird "traveling mountains and rivers just for love", black people feel very romantic. But in reality, he stayed alone in a wooden house in the wilderness, looking at photos of people he had never seen before, and fell in love at first sight.

It is incredible that he finally met the man in the photo, but in a parallel world, and this person already has a partner, and the partner is the black man himself in the parallel world. God made another joke when he was giving black people a surprise. But under the fire of love, everything still happened. This shot in the aisle is really applauded. At the end of the dim corridor, in the soft light, the tall and straight lover shows ambiguous eyes and postures, full of bad morals.

But it was only a short-lived joy. The black man prepares to let his crush and himself return to his own world, but learns the truth that his crush doesn't really like him. The ending is very unforgettable. The angry black man buried his diary of confiding his thoughts and love, and turned away angrily. The soundtrack is very cool.

Every episode of this show is a big proposition and basically finds an impressive point. Such as death, young children and old people, children can't accept the departure of their loved ones, and the old grandpa has been able to calm down his own departure, trying to convey important thoughts to grandchildren: remember that you can always be in the dark Find the light. Maybe in the countless days after Grandpa's death, the child will remember this sentence, as if Grandpa never left.

What is unforgettable is also the beautiful lens language, almost like a landscape blockbuster, wide, desolate, balanced, lonely, comfortable... Many lenses convey this feeling.
