more than the TV version

It exceeds the theatrical sequence, but the overall story has been upgraded and expanded.

Some omitted bridges in the TV version have been re-expanded and re-edited.

The 18 episodes of the TV version are the dragon set 1 EVA becomes the ninth apostle and becomes Asuka as the driver. I think the setting of the theater version is better.

Also, the part where the puppet system kills the ninth apostle is handled better than the 18 episodes of the TV version. 3 hits one is too outrageous! 1 on 1 is reasonable. Although I'm still not satisfied with the overall design, after all, the protagonist didn't fight back even once. It is reasonable to try to get the bolt out.

The scene is much bigger.

The more the theater version, the more the effect is different. In fact, it is enough to watch the theatrical version without watching the TV version!

Ritsuko Akagi: Nice try, but I gained more than I'd like to admit.

Ryoji Kaji: Maybe you're just wearing too many clothes.

Ritsuko Akagi: I'd show you, but this room's being monitored.

Ryoji Kaji: Was monitored. I replaced the main feed with a loop.

Ritsuko Akagi: Thoroughly prepared as always, huh?

Ryoji Kaji: Hey, when I play, I play to win.

    Ritsuko Akagi: But you've lost.

[an angry Misato watches from the window]

Ritsuko Akagi: You should've covered the windows too.
