It exceeds the theatrical sequence, but the overall story has been upgraded and expanded.
Some omitted bridges in the TV version have been re-expanded and re-edited.
The 18 episodes of the TV version are the dragon set 1 EVA becomes the ninth apostle and becomes Asuka as the driver. I think the setting of the theater version is better.
Also, the part where the puppet system kills the ninth apostle is handled better than the 18 episodes of the TV version. 3 hits one is too outrageous! 1 on 1 is reasonable. Although I'm still not satisfied with the overall design, after all, the protagonist didn't fight back even once. It is reasonable to try to get the bolt out.
The scene is much bigger.
The more the theater version, the more the effect is different. In fact, it is enough to watch the theatrical version without watching the TV version!
