This one is my personal favorite of all the series, and not just because the fight scenes are really exciting.
On the whole, the protagonist is still a waste of visual sense, but it does not affect the introduction of the plot and the control of the rhythm. It's really weird that Asuka is trapped in the body of the apostle and the EVA fight with a soothing music is really weird.
The battle before the final base is a small climax, it feels good.
The ending card is also very clever. Still highly recommended
