After calming down, I found that Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse was not as good as everyone said

After a period of downturn in the production of high-bad movies, Sony finally had a tough time. First, I made some face with the beautiful box office results of "Venom", and gradually strengthened the control ability of "Spider-Man" IP.

This "Parallel Universe" takes a different approach, presenting the movie in the form of animation, and paying tribute to it like a two-dimensional animation in a 3D modeling environment. Combining comic strips and animation, the picture effect can be said to be a top-notch. Coupled with the strong soundtrack of the film style, it has made it stand out from the crowds of movies that use pipeline symphony, and it has successfully won a lot of praise.

I was also very excited when I just watched this movie, because people always like to watch something new. After getting tired of the familiar recipes of Marvel movies, it is especially easy to change the taste once in a while. Just like your mother who stirs cauliflower for you every day suddenly stirs up water spinach. Although it is a dish, it can stimulate the taste buds and leave a deep impression on you.

The same is true for movies, as long as they are fresh and fun. It is not difficult to get everyone to pay.

However, evaluating movies is not the same as simply watching movies. Watching a movie is a consumer behavior. As long as the movie theater service is in place, it is OK to watch a movie. However, evaluation must have some standards and introduce some objective concepts to help us make more accurate judgments on a personal level.

It is true that "Parallel Universe" has done a very good job in sound and picture. As a film with a story, the story is also a factor that cannot be ignored. The big problem with "Parallel Universe" is:

The play is too random!

why would you say so? Although everyone knows that drama is an indispensable part of a play, if it is too dramatic, it will become bloody and easy to be distorted. Speaking of this, someone may ask:

Does the movie need to be serious?

Of course it is necessary! Many people will inevitably mention the word "dreaming" when describing movies. Present the impossible in reality on the big screen. Moreover, the film has another characteristic, that is, it can mobilize your emotions in the process of watching the movie, making you forget the reality for a while and focus on the world on the screen. If the world created on the screen is not real enough, not credible enough. Then the film could not have such a shocking expressive power.

Therefore, the unconstrained movie also needs to be real, and it needs to be real under the framework of the movie setting.

There are contradictory details in "Parallel Universe". In the movie, when two Spider-Man mutants meet together, the spider's induction will resonate, and the two will confirm each other's identity.

When Peter Parker met Miles in the war, he learned that he was also a mutant, and promised to teach him a few tricks in the future, but this promise was never fulfilled.

However, when Miles first saw the female Spider-Man, he didn't start to feel the resonance with the spider. Instead, the resonance was triggered when the six spider-mans met together. Of course, I understand that the screenwriter is to give the audience a small surprise. After all, if they recognize each other at the beginning, they may not be able to ask Miles. Uncle Allen’s tricks for smelting girls and making a funny plot of hardcover chasing girls.

Secondly, the setting that the prowler is Uncle Allen of Miles directly increased the movie’s horse catching index by several orders of magnitude (or even an exponential level), especially in the roof war that occurred afterwards, the prowler took off Miles. When my uncle and nephew met each other, a strong smell of Qiong Yao came over his face. What’s more, after Kim killed the Prowler, he left the scene calmly, leaving Miles and Allen to complain. At this time, Miles’ father happened to come and saw Spider-Man standing on Allen’s corpse. The person next to him mistakenly thought he was the murderer of Alan, and the father and son almost became enemies. Fortunately, the movie brakes in time, otherwise the horse catching index will have to increase by several orders of magnitude.

Finally, the character changes in the movie are too casual. Father and son said that reconciliation means reconciliation, while Miles said that growth means growth.

Although the movie with the theme of growth is at the end, the protagonist always has to grow. But movies with mature plays should allow this process to run through the entire movie. Cross talk pays attention to paving the ground, and the movie also pays attention to this point. Narrative movie his dad D.W. Griffith once said

The gun that appeared in the first act must be fired in the third act (to the effect)

In "Parallel Universe", his father and Miles had a conversation at the other door, and he immediately understood his father. However, their previous differences are obviously a generation gap in concepts. Since it is a generation gap, it is certainly not easy to resolve. No matter how bad it is, there will be a face-to-face exchange. Both sides will express their opinions and opinions. In the end, everyone will step back and seek common ground while reserving differences. But the real factor in this movie that promotes the reconciliation of father and son is actually-Uncle Allen's death.

Although the death of the brother may make Miles' father realize the importance of his family, the fact of Alan's death is difficult to understand and form a causal relationship with the father and son. In daily life, family members who were originally conflicted may also intensify conflicts due to the death of their relatives. At the same time, the sloppy treatment of the film also brought other problems.

The biggest problem is that other Spider-Man in parallel time and space has little effect on Miles' growth. Except for Peter B who taught him a few words, the others only cooperated in a "You are still too young" aggressive French drama.

Then, they didn't have any help. As one of the big selling points of the movie, it really shouldn't make these cute characters become vases. After all, it's the pot of drama.

But even if there are many loopholes in the "Parallel World" play, it cannot change its visual excellence and its popularity among many audiences. Therefore, in general, the flaws in this film are not concealed.

Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse quotes

  • Mary Jane: [mistaking Peter for a waiter] Hello.

    Peter B. Parker: Oh, wow.

Mary Jane: Um, I just wondered if we could have some more bread at table twelve.

Peter B. Parker: Yeah! I'm just, I'm really sorry...

Mary Jane: Oh, don't be sorry. It's just bread.

Peter B. Parker: No, I wasn't there for you when you needed me.

    Mary Jane: Mmm-hmm...

Peter B. Parker: And I didn't even try.

Mary Jane: That's fine. I should really get going...

Peter B. Parker: I know I could do better if I just had another chance to give you... the bread that you deserve.

    Mary Jane: Are you okay?

Gwen Stacy: Ma'am, we'll take care of that bread right now.

Mary Jane: It's been nice, uh, talking to you.

Peter B. Parker: For you they should fill this place up with fresh bread.

Gwen Stacy: [to Peter] You all right, man?

    Peter B. Parker: Yeah, totally.

Gwen Stacy: Okay, good, 'cause we are not getting any bread.

Peter Parker: [narrating] All right, let's do this one last time. My name is Peter Parker. I was bitten by a radioactive spider, and for ten years I've been the one and only Spider-Man. I'm pretty sure you know the rest. I saved a bunch of people, fell in love, saved the city, and then I saved the city again... and again and again and again. And I, uh... I did this.

Peter Parker: We don't really talk about this. Look, I'm a comic book, I'm a cereal, did a Christmas album. I have an excellent theme song. And a so-so popsicle. I mean, I've looked worse. But after everything, I still love being Spider-Man. I mean, who wouldn't? So no matter how many hits I take, I always find a way to come back. Because the only thing standing between this city and oblivion is me. There's only one Spider-Man. And you're looking at him.
