For some reason, in recent years, Hollywood has risen to put plush dolls into live-action movies, from Ted to Paddington to today's Pooh. Actually, I was not interested in this kind of movies, but after watching the introduction of the story, I was attracted by "Pooh and Me" (Christopher Robin). Recently, I was under pressure at work and chose to watch movies on Sunday morning. I have to say that this is one of the movies that surprised me the most this year. I especially like the atmosphere of this movie. It allows the audience to relax in the theater for nearly two hours, temporarily forgetting the hardships of life, so that people will be motivated to go on. Its story is simple, not esoteric, but very worthy of thought.
The story of "Pooh and Me" is clichéd. In fact, an adult neglects his own affairs and dreams because of his work, and then his childhood playmates come out to awaken his sealed innocence in his heart and give him the motivation to live again. It's too old-fashioned. Disney and Pith have used the same bridge countless times, but the bridge is not afraid of the old. Every time a new movie is shot, it always surprises people.
The true meaning of Hakuna Matata and Do Nothing
The Do Nothing philosophy that Pooh bears all the way is not new.
The film's golden sentence "Doing nothing often leads to the very best kind of something" appears many times. When you understand this sentence, it will inevitably make people think that it is negative or even avoiding problems and responsibilities. If you only understand Do Nothing literally, I'm afraid Readers will misunderstand the information of the movie.
Hakuna Matata, which appeared as early as "The Lion King", is actually the same as Do Nothing to a certain extent. It is a kind of worry-free life philosophy that promotes worry-free and reduces deep thinking (♪ It's our problem-free philosophy...). This kind of lifestyle is absolutely ideal. A simple life, no work, no responsibilities, no disputes, even a little bit of anarchism, just want to play and survive, which of course makes people relax. However, ideals belong to ideals, and this kind of life philosophy is difficult to practice in reality. In "The Lion King", Simba also gave up the Hakuna Matata-style life because of his responsibility to the country and his people, and went back to regain the territory.
In "Pooh and Me", Christopher Robin does not have Do Nothing. After taking the risk, he still has to go back to face work and still have to take care of the family. But when faced with work and academic pressure, Robin (and us) actually need to learn Do nothing for a while, that is, Take a break, take a break, take a vacation, and leave time to family and favorites. "Doing nothing often leads to the very best kind of something" In other words, Do Nothing does not tell you not to do anything or escape reality, but to let yourself breathe. The ultimate goal of Do Nothing is to let yourself give up Do Nothing, and then have the motivation to Do Something.
Honey and beer
The Winnie the Pooh doesn't have to work, just eat honey, play and sleep every day. But in reality, people have jobs and responsibilities, and it is impossible to take all of this set. Do Nothing's casual lifestyle is a kind of compromise. It tries to balance ideal and reality as much as possible, which is what we call Work-life balance now. In reality, many people also like to travel and relax during vacations, and treat vacations as the honey of life. Of course, many middle-class or above families can do it. However, for many people, it is realistic or more cruel, and for many people with low incomes, the cost of vacation is also high.
In "Pooh and I" Robin was fortunate to have his boss support his final plan, and his own financial conditions permit, he can practice Work-life balance. But what if the boss does not agree with his approach and finally decides to lay off employees? What if Robin is fired and financial difficulties arise?
In reality, how often do we really have a vacation? Especially for low-income families, it is definitely not easy to have time and money for vacation after deducting living expenses. Therefore, for many people, the protagonist in "Ted" drinking with the bear when facing a problem actually seems to be a more realistic way to relax.
After all, work belongs to work, and people always need to relax. Whether you choose to relax by eating honey, traveling or drinking, you also need a quiet time to take yourself out of work and take a breather. Slowing down is to go further.
When I walked out of the cinema, the first text message I received was a friend who said that Hong Kong singer Lu Kaitong committed suicide by jumping off the building. In the face of pressure, everyone has different solutions. If your life is difficult, don't continue to tighten your rubber, otherwise the pressure will explode one day. Talk to your close friends, they can make you forget the hardships of life for a while; go to a good movie on holiday, it can surprise you, think and relax.
Learn to let go and relax yourself.
Do nothing for a while. It often leads to the very best kind of something.
rest in peace.
