Ryuichi Sakamoto's soundtrack is very emotional, like cherry blossoms falling in a heavy snow in London in late spring in Japan. The plot takes place in a Japanese WWII prison camp in Java. I don't want to talk too much about the plot. I thought there would be a lot of same-sex romance in this film, except for a tragedy at the beginning, I don't think it's a gay-themed film in the traditional sense. Or rather, the film wasn’t made for being gay, but the inherently rebellious and transcendental qualities of gays that make the heart of this film beautifully presented. I have to say that Ryuichi Sakamoto is really invincible and handsome (one of my favorite Japanese looks). David Bowie, to be honest I didn't pay attention to rock before, but after watching this movie, I fell in love with him. I felt a kind, in this film, a kind of sadness as sharp as a knife. East and West, enemies or friends, captives and soldiers, winners and losers, etc... These things are like a dull knife, another wheel of fortune. The scene of the belly cut is something I can't forget for a long time. The background of the war makes it difficult to see a game of destiny, as Lawrence said: We are all wrong. Beliefs or beliefs, culture, country and belonging. In this film, I felt even more crushed. The twisted and pure feelings of Jack and Yonoi moved me. Are you an evil spirit? What about evil spirits. Turns out we are all the same. I only felt a kind of tension full of rebellion by fate pointing at the eyebrows. And Jack's kiss, and this rebellion, shattered falsehood, drowned hatred, and allowed humanity and love to rise. It turns out that we are all the same, we are all human, we all suffer, we hate, and we love. It's hard to watch this movie with a spectator's appreciation, so I can't comment on it further. Text is superfluous. I remember seeing such a point of view from an article: Japan is a Scorpio. And Scorpio represents a kind of extreme hatred or all-goodness, very extreme. And when the eyes are wrapped in extreme hatred, the connection between the self and the heart will be cut off. If there is no way to listen, there is no way to understand, and then there is no good. I was thinking as I watched it, if I were in the context of the war, I would have made the same choice as Lawrence and Jack. I will only choose love.
