heaven has no color

As a film fan with very little experience, I also realize that appreciating a movie should start with appreciating the director, so after rewatching "Little Shoes" last night, I continued to enjoy another film by the famous Iranian director Majid Majidi. Outstanding work "The Colors of Heaven".
Teacher Erya said that Iran and other Islamic countries have very strict film censorship systems, so most films cannot be released, only children's films can. I have to admit that compared to foreign countries, China's filming of children's movies is slightly inferior. Perhaps Zhang Yimou's "No One Less" is the most famous, and the next one is "The Fourth Painting" as I know it. In fact, the first foreign film about children that I came into contact with was "The Stars on Earth". It was very well done. Compared with the Chinese "Angry Child", it was much more brilliant. Chinese films are still too flattering and favoring. too serious.
Even said that, in my opinion, the artistic talent shown by the director of this film is higher than that of "Little Shoes". The little protagonist Muhammad is a blind boy. When I saw him studying in a school for the blind, I thought of Zhou Yunpeng and his divine song "What if You Are Suddenly Blind?" The bones are crisp. This kind of worry actually lasted until the film's sad ending. Tolstoy said, "Happy families are alike, and unfortunate families have their own misfortunes." Isn't it just that the fate of life cannot be controlled?
First of all, the picture of this movie is very beautiful, like a beautiful oil painting. Although it is an Asian film, although it is a relatively unglamorous Iranian film, its framing has a European medieval style. Handsome horses, warm fields, gurgling streams, rolling hills, etc., with the sounds of animals in nature and specific Islamic music, the whole movie is filled with sentimental tragedy, but it also conveys love at the same time with eternity.
The scene where the little boy came back from the school for the blind and lived with his grandmother and two sisters is really beautiful. His pure and kind heart can perceive the outside world. Especially the love for Allah is touching, and I even hope that Allah can take him away. In the eyes of real people, taking him away means death. When he dialed out the true proposition that God does not only love the blind, I was so sad, does God really exist in the world? Regarding a religious topic, for a non-religious person like me, I can only keep my mouth shut and get to know it quietly.
A very realistic character in the movie is Muhammad's father. After he lost his wife, he wanted to marry another one. However, his blind son became a stumbling block in his marriage. He had to send his son to a blind carpenter to learn art. . The mother, Grandma Muhammad, would rather not see him off. He could not approve of his son's treatment of his grandson. She braved the rainy day to bring back her grandson. The filial son pulled back his mother. Although the mother finally agreed to his marriage with tears, the mother also passed away with tears. After losing his mother, he received the double blow of the woman's rejection of marriage. He suddenly realized that he wanted to bring back his son, but on the way back, his son on horseback stumbled and fell into the rolling stream.
No one knew whether the father was holding the body or the corpse of his drowning son. The director did not explain, let the audience guess. Just like the title of the movie is named "The Color of Heaven", it also allows the audience to guess what the color of heaven is. With offense, I privately think that heaven has no color. But are there things in the world without color?

The Color of Paradise quotes

  • Mohammad: [crying] Our teacher says that God loves the blind more because they can't see. But I told him if it was so, He would not make us blind so that we can't see Him. He answered "God is not visible. He is everywhere. You can feel Him. You see Him through your fingertips." / Now I reach out everywhere for God till the day my hands touch Him and tell Him everything, even all the secrets in my heart.

  • Mohammad: [crying] Nobody loves me because I'm blind.
