Who is the giant in my heart

Under the recommendation of Ermao CP, I finished watching this faith inspirational movie. Agreed to watch with Dawei, this guy lost the chain again.
The direction of the story is within the expected range. The Eagles led by the protagonist of the film, the football coach, have suffered repeated defeats. They have not won a game in six years. dissatisfied and almost unemployed. Family life isn't quite what it's supposed to be, either: an old crappy car that always stalls, a home that stinks inexplicably, a stove that's broken inexplicably, and a horribly long-awaited child who has finally been sentenced to out of reach. All these failures are a burden on the coach, making him so desperate that he can't breathe.
The turning point in his fate came when, in his desperation, he began to seek God. I got up in the middle of the night, picked up the Bible and read it carefully. I got up early in the morning and went to the woods to communicate and pray with God. I found strength in prayer and finally began to understand the true mission of life. God answered him in his prayer, and he sent an elder who often prayed for his students one by one to bring him the words, giving him inspiration and courage to change the status quo. He, began to appear to the students with a new face, and began to lead them with biblical principles. Teach them that the goal of life is not just to win a game, but to glorify God. Everything was taught by the words of the Bible, which changed the students unknowingly. They decided to believe in the Lord one after another, confessed their sins and prayed to each other, and the atmosphere of the entire team began to undergo subtle changes. The most shocking scene appeared on the court, "death crawl". By blindfolding the player, let him carry a 160-pound teammate and crawl across the entire court. During this process, the coach kept encouraging him: keep going. For a moment, you can, keep moving forward~ These words of encouragement are very shocking and give people a very inspirational feeling.
From then on, the coach's life began to change, the team members became united, and one victory after another greeted them. Then there are life surprises waiting for him, a brand new car/house repaired/wage hike/wife pregnant, what a wonderful work of God. The end of the victory was the team's incredible victory against a formidable opponent, the Giants.
Thank the Lord for letting me come across this movie in the trough of my faith. Let me believe that when you begin to turn to the Lord, confess your sins and repent. God is sure to change our status quo, and we can't imagine his amazing work. Repent and seek. Looking forward to God's change in our lives. Hallelujah, thank and praise the Lord~

Facing the Giants quotes

  • J.T. Hawkins Jr.: You act like you gonna miss before you even kick the ball. See, we're gonna have to change your whole kicking philosophy. Now see, you kick it wide left, or wide right, but that ain't gonna get you home. The ball has got to go through the middle.

    David Childers: I know, coach.

J.T. Hawkins Jr.: No, no, no. You don't. Now what does scripture say about this? Scripture says wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction. And many that be there find it. Now to us; that's wide left, and wide right. But narrow is the gate and straight is the way that leads to life, and few that be there find it. Anybody can kick it wide left and wide right. My momma can kick it wide left and wide right. But that ain't gonna get you home. It don't have to look great. It don't have to look smooth. It can look like a dying duck. But the ball has got to go through the middle. Now David, you gonna have to choose the narrow way. Cause that's the only path where you gonna get your reward.

  • Grant Taylor: I'm a bit nervous. It's the championship. It's kind of surreal for me.

Mark Richt: Well, I can promise you. I don't care what level of ball you're coaching; it's surreal when you make it to the championship game. And Grant, I can just tell you: I'm so proud of you and what you've done. I've been reading about the team and where you've gone, and more than anything else I'm just proud of the fact that you finally learned to win the big one.

Grant Taylor: Well, we haven't played them yet.

Mark Richt: No, you won the big one when you accepted Christ. And now that you're teaching these guys and ministering to them, I think it's just fantastic.

Grant Taylor: I got it. These players got it.

Mark Richt: Well, I can promise you: win or lose this game, you guys are champions.

    Grant Taylor: I appreciate that.

Mark Richt: But while you're here, you might as well win it, eh?

Grant Taylor: I will try my best. You know, this team we're playing: they're huge, they're fast, they're strong. I just don't want my players to be afraid.

Mark Richt: Well, in God's word He said 365 different times, "Do not fear." Now if He says it that many times, you know He's serious about it, don't ya?
