Although the director himself clearly stated that the three short films are not related, and I did not plan to study any commonalities, I was just reminiscing as three independent short films, but suddenly I thought of the theme of the three short films and the title "Memories". connect.
I like the first one the most. The pictures and music are very beautiful. We discuss the romantic issue of fantasy or reality.
The second seems to be an imaginary "shooting oneself in the foot" story in order to vent dissatisfaction with the way officials deal with crises. At the beginning, whether it was local leaders or headquarters leaders, the first thing that came to mind was concealment. The development of the following plot is not logically true, it is more of self-revelry, but the position of the main creator can be seen.
The third part is a copy of the thinking of 1984. The meaning and purpose are manipulated by the ruler. The hearts of the people switch between true belief and false belief. Sometimes they are sober, sometimes sinking, and sometimes acting.
In this way, the common theme of the three films is the critique of lies, and (whether it is intended or not) the title "Memories" just points out the way to fight against lies and brainwashing: always remember. Only by remembering the facts we have personally experienced can we find a fulcrum to reflect on and see through lies, and we will not be held hostage and deceived by beautiful illusions.
