Finished watching Season 1 of Deadly Woman.
The process is very exciting, the ending seems powerless, and it gives me the feeling that the conflict is over as soon as it reaches its climax. Almost all three storylines are like this. Just take the line between Shila and Rob for a moment. The reason why Shila planned to kill her husband was not "the husband was having an affair", but "the husband did not tell Shila when he knew that Shila was not responsible for the death of the child, but made her feel guilty all the time". Then, the "Rob cheats on April, Shila gets close to April" that has been narrated for the past nine episodes doesn't seem to make much sense.
When the story reaches the 8th and 9th episodes, the audience may feel that Shila is completely cocooning herself - she has successfully expelled the mistress, but her mother's love germinates to prevent the mistress from having an abortion, which will only make her situation more unfavorable. In addition, the audience doesn't seem to have a lot of hatred for Rob. On the one hand, the story depicts less of Rob's negative image, and Rob actually treats Shila with respect. Except for cheating, he didn't do anything too much at home. The relationship is actually pretty good.
In the end, what made Shila want to kill was "the truth that Rob's female secretary said", and Rob's female secretary gave me the feeling that "the sky has fallen". It's like the screenwriter forgot to write Shila's motive for killing Rob, and then thought: "Oh, the plot has progressed here, and the motive for killing Rob forgot to write, then let's arrange another." So Rob's female secretary became his lover. This plot is optional, and there is no foreshadowing at the beginning. So it's like "a strange soldier from heaven".
Going back to what I said before, if the reason for Shila's killing thoughts is "Rob's female secretary", then the plot of "friends with April" that has been talked about in the first 8 episodes is a bit incoherent with this last paragraph.
I think it might end up like this: Rob had a bad relationship with Shila and a bad relationship with April. It just so happened that Shila and April became good friends again. After the two found out that Rob was a scumbag, they planned to kill him. This is more coherent, more hatred.
And Simone and his husband are a poignant love story, so the love between Simone and Tommy doesn't seem to make much sense.
All in all, The Deadly Woman Season 1 process was exciting, but it felt so-so to see the end.
