Kai-Fu Lee pointed out that MIT's role as an excessive plaintiff and the problems of American justice led to this tragedy: 1) How should Internet crimes be dealt with? Hackers should be punished for stealing files, but 50 years in prison is heavier than a bank robbery and some murderers! 2) In the past, Harvard could forgive Gates, AT&T did not sue Jobs, but MIT, as an innovative avant-garde, refused to compromise on probation, and forced Swartz to a dead end. 3) The litigation costs made the rich Swartz almost bankrupt.
