Sighing, and indifferent

People watch it with the attitude of facing the "spectacle". They burst into tears and sigh, but also have nothing to do with themselves and are indifferent. "There are only sensations, but no real events."
——Excerpted from the postscript of "The Story of Liang Zhuang"

Today I saw this sentence on the WeChat of the Utopia, and I couldn't help but think of the movie I watched two days ago.

"Children of the Internet" is a documentary that shocked me, not because it is objective, comprehensive, or even profound and insightful. It is the light of the extreme pure naive idealists that shines in it. This bloated and bloated bureaucratic world can be changed, and the future will be better. Sometimes I don't believe it, sometimes I think I should believe it, and sometimes I have to believe it.

Aaron ended up being devoured by the world, but he convinced a lot of people. Therefore, the ending of the tragedy does not give people panic and sadness, but great anger and strength.

However, this emotionally provoked power also disappeared very quickly.

In this era when even the Chinese great firewall cannot stop the spread of information, we have too many opportunities to touch the world far away from ourselves. The Aarons are exacerbating this trend. The free flow of information and the expansion and enrichment of public channels are the inevitable directions of modernization. Even in this tearing society of "the old era is not dead, the new era is the future", traditional concepts and vested interests are still entangled with the new generation. The game is being played fiercely, but we cannot avoid talking about this direction. Although Aaron is dead, the changed world he wants to see is bound to come, but the form and final structure are unpredictable.

Therefore, the different living conditions that we see now, the different lives that are touched or mournful, must be pitiful and terribly narrow compared to what we can see in the future. I look forward to such a future, but also have apprehensions and fears. Giving emotion is valuable, but relatively speaking, it is also very cheap. Tears are shed in front of various electronic ports, or likes and shares, at most a few comments are the feedback from the viewers. In Liang Hong's words, "I am deeply sighed and indifferent." As a communication major, I am convinced that communication is an important factor in shaping society, and "giving voice to the voiceless" is a responsibility and a necessity. However, how to avoid being numb in the face of too much information, from selective action to no longer action, is worth thinking about.

Recalling what Neil said in "Entertainment to Die", Orwell predicted that we would be destroyed by despotism and power, but the reality is very likely, as Huxley thought, that we are destroyed by what we love. We are afraid that the future of "resource sharing and freedom of speech" will not come, and we should be alert to the disaster of being at a loss and doing nothing. It seems to be the same paradox.
