1. disappear

The first episode of the play begins with " vanish ". Not only Camille's sister Marianne disappeared, but also two other girls in the town: Ann and Natalie. This also has the effect of echoing back and forth with the " vanish " carved by Camille at the end of the first episode .

Why not use the word disappear disappear , but with the additional words Vanish .

Vanish means a strong tone, referring to the complete, often mysterious and sudden disappearance without leaving any clues;

And disappear stressed that out of sight or mind, this disappearance may be temporary, sudden or permanent. This also shows that Marianne, Ann and Natalie disappeared suddenly without people noticing, leaving no trace.

That's why Ann's father Nash said to Camille.

Ann's father would rather his daughter be killed than be raped by others. Why do you say this? What is Nash hiding? What is he afraid of?

From the beginning, Fengkou Town gave people a kind of depression and even breathlessness. What pervades this town is not only the smell of decay, but also the distortion of human nature.

2. Flashback

First flashback:

At the beginning, the director used the flashback narrative technique to make Camille reproduce the memories of childhood. When Camille was a child, she played the heroine Sophia Lilith in "Recall the Clown". The way the director made Camille wake up was not to wake him up directly from his dream, but to use a "little trick". The young lady used the tip of a paperclip on the back of Camille's hand to wake him up.

The second flashback:

Camille lay in the bathtub of the motel, flashed back to his childhood and appeared in the pond. The flashback is superb and comfortable to look at.

The wooden houses in the forest that appear in the picture are covered with animal meat and plastered with sex pictures. These two things symbolize sex and violence.

However, Camille used this way to lust with his body to achieve a physical climax. This also shows that in fact, Camille lives in a lewd person, or that she has a little-known past.

The third flashback:

Camille saw the past in the woods, a group of boys chasing her, but it was not clear why they wanted to chase her.

The fourth flashback:

Camille sat on a stool and recalled a conversation from his sister Marianne:

What if after you die, part of your soul goes to heaven, and the other part stays in the world, guarding your loved ones?

Camille looked very upset. She didn't like Marianne saying such things, and she was also afraid of losing Marianne. But in the end she still lost Marianne.

Fifth flashback:

Camille, who returned to the room, lay on the bed and saw the crack in the ceiling, thinking of her and Marian again. Marian convulsed midway, Camille rushed out to call her mother, and then returned to reality.

The cause of Marianne's convulsions was that she was taking drugs and being high. Marianne died not because of drug overdose, but because of murder.

The sixth flashback:

Camille appeared at Marian's funeral, unable to bear Marian's death, and suffered a huge blow in his heart.

Marian's departure made Camille mentally stimulated, and this was why she stayed in the local mental hospital for a long time to get rid of this painful situation.

3. People

Hostess: Camille , a journalist, suffered severe injuries when he was a child. He often flashed back fragments of memory, paralyzed himself through alcohol, and warned himself through self-harm. The TV station needed her to return to the "Guykou Town" to report a case about the murder of two underage girls.

It can be seen from the play that Camille is unwilling to return to the town where she used to live, after all, there are things she can't bear to look back on. But no way, work is work.

Sheriff: Victory

I met Camille for the first time and kept evading Camille's questions. He also gave words such as no comment, and also showed a strong defensive side.

According to Camille's summary: the sheriff has no clues, and he is helpless with these two missing cases. Hearing that Camille wanted to report, he didn't want to talk too much, let alone be known by outsiders, and laughed at by outsiders. That's why he showed his silence.

Mother: Clarin

Women with strong traditional concepts are not very welcome to Camille's return. Camille went to investigate the case, and she unanimously opposed it and didn't want her to dig deeper.

It is also intolerable for Camille not to return all night, and even ordered Camille not to do things that would embarrass her. On the one hand, Clarin's desire for control is extremely strong; on the other hand, Camille may have done some things that made her feel ashamed when she was a child.

Clarin pulled his eyelashes three times in the first episode:

First time: (The first night Camille returned home)

Second time: (Camille is now in the kitchen for the second time)

The third time: (Camille came home from the police station)

I don't know if this is a deliberate arrangement by the director or Clarin has such a hobby.

She strongly opposed Camille to investigate for what purpose. Maybe she hides a lot of secrets herself.

New detective: Wells

3 appearances in the first episode

For the first time , encountered in Camille Lin.

For the second time , the bar met Camille.

For the third time , Camille was called to the police station to record a statement.

These 3 appearances were too timely. Rather than showing up in time, it is better to say what the new detective discovered while investigating the case.

Otherwise, how could he show up when Camille went to the search and rescue team, when he wanted to ask Natalie's brother John in a bar, and Camille appeared when he was recording a statement at the police station.

The new detective watched Camille's every move in the dark, perhaps he noticed that the occurrence of these cases was inextricably linked to Camille.

The new detective said:

What you want to happen happens.

This sentence is very interesting. You can understand it as saying to Camille, which is in line with what Camille said to her boss:

Hope to find that girl is dead eventually.

The girl here refers to Natalie . That is, the girl sitting on the window at the scene where the body was found.

Half-sister: Emma

When he met Camille in the town, he did not say hello, but embraced Camille at home. On the surface, it's close to Camille, but I don't like Camille very much inside. Her conversation with Camille upstairs was puzzling, and the sister who behaved strangely was a scheming bitch.

Saying that he is very similar to Camille, is similar in character. This also means that Emma will repeat the misfortunes that Camille had experienced.

4. Proverbs

The wicked will be overthrown in the evil they do. The righteous are dying and have refuge.

The meaning of this sentence is: wicked people will be punished for doing bad things, and good people will be inspired by the Lord when they are dying.

5. The second episode trailer

In the trailer for the second episode, it is mentioned that "Camille is very happy that those girls died", "Camille was not a good girl since childhood", "This is a helpless person, a crime caused by fighting for power", "Camille concealed Some of my own affairs" and "Camille didn't defeat the demons at all, just survived." From these perspectives, some unknown stories happened in Fengkou Town many years ago, and these stories have to find answers from Camille. .

6. Other

This drama is a slow-heating type, it will be a little boring at first, but as the plot progresses, the rhythm gradually gets better. Especially the flashback two-line narrative, coupled with the two acting schools of Amy Adams and Patricia Clarkson , in the first episode, the two are not stingy on the same stage. The director Jean-Marc Varley has directed the high-scoring film "Dallas Buyers Club" and the series "Little Lies", both of which provide a qualitative guarantee for this show .

From the beginning of the first episode, it has a movie quality, and the director has a solid foundation. The plot is similar to the "Fatal Safety" I have seen before, but the narrative logic of this play is much higher than that of "Fatal Safety". "Fatal Safety" has too many extra plots, and fragments will appear from time to time. However, this drama does not, I can't wait to update the second episode tomorrow.

The photography style is very similar to "Clown's Back" and "Witch Carrie".

With strange, mysterious, dark, religious and other colors, it makes people terribly shocked. From the perspective of "you are a bystander", she follows the heroine to dig the truth.

Looking forward to the power of the follow-up plot, looking forward to the secret hidden behind. Hurry up and update the second episode!
