The story told in this French film is hardly a story, like a few silhouettes of city life that can be seen everywhere, but it is fascinating to watch like magic. The movie is filled with a strong atmosphere of life. Ordinary single mothers encounter big and small things, sensible boys who like to play games, and Chinese students who often hold cameras. If there is anything left after watching this movie, it is these, as well as the life feelings accumulated from ordinary noise and gentle caressing.
Boys are lonely, like to play video games, like to chase balloons, like to be fascinated by balloons. As the protagonist and supporting role, the red balloon is often cut into the camera, making people unconsciously associate the balloon with the boy, lonely and free to fly. The female student went to see the boy, the boy slept in the attic, and the balloon looked at the boy through the window, a very strong literary aura, like a scene carefully outlined in a novel.
The trivial life scenes pick up the bright spots, making people sigh kindness and beauty. Like that naughty red balloon, it will give people happiness wherever it floats.
