Aladdin popping out of the teapot? Chinese dragon flying out of the magic lamp

Watched "Wish Dragon" over the weekend! Without any expectations, I think it's still worth the money!

Let's talk about the advantages first! This film uses a lot of Chinese elements, and it is not embarrassing. What kind of demolition, lion dance, cheese building, neighbors who have passed down hundreds of thousands of stories, a delivery guy with superb skills, etc., I can still smile when I watch it~ It’s a bit surprising to see that the main creator at the end of the film is a foreign team, it seems that it is for China I have done some investigations on the status quo, and I have a certain understanding, at least I am not thinking about it out of thin air. Occasionally there are some small jokes in the story, and it can be seen that it was done with heart.

The shortcomings are also obvious, the plot is weak. The story is still rather rough. I want to make a Chinese version of Aladdin's magic lamp, but it is not enough to localize Aladdin and the magic lamp into dragons and teapots! The story itself is still a cliché story that wraps a childhood sweetheart love story into a friendship, and all the problems encountered are solved by the last resort of violent output and forcibly killing the bad guy.

The lines are not very good, especially the dialogue between the male and female protagonists is still a bit embarrassing. Compared with the embarrassment of "I regret not holding you tightly that night" Mary Su in "Big Fish and Begonia" can be better, but it is better than the excellent lines. The distance is still very long. There is no one sentence that can take your heart, and you can remember it at the end of the movie. Occasional jokes and jokes are a bit vulgar, but they are above the passing line, and some can be laughed at.

However, it should be noted that jokes and jokes are some icing on the cake. If they are not brocade, these things cannot hide their essence.

I also encountered this situation in my work, where I changed from a layman to an expert, thinking that as long as the story line was mesmerizing, I didn’t pay attention to logic, structure, plot connection, characters’ inner and outer motives, etc.

For example, in this film, I didn't understand it even though I looked around, how could Di Shenlong be influenced by the "friendship" between the male and female protagonists? When the male protagonist made a wish for Jinshan, he gave him a good introduction to his life. What did the master do? Did I miss something? What happened in front of the hero and heroine is really not enough to support Shenlong to overthrow his thousand-year-old cognition, and he suddenly realizes the true meaning of life! It's a little embarrassing to write on it like this.

Moreover, I thought that the male protagonist would establish a friendship with Shenlong, and use his last wish on Shenlong to untie its knot, instead of falling in love with it. In this way, his contribution is not out of personal motives, and he can truly move Shenlong with his actions. Shenlong will also get things that he has not understood for thousands of years because of the "save" of the male protagonist.

As for the emotional line with the heroine, well, well, it is the so-called "friendship" line emphasized in the film. It should also be that the male protagonist gave up using some unnatural means, but finally got the desired result. The same is to let go to get it, but to push it further and further. After all, in real life, there is no help from the dragon. The male protagonist understands this link, and his actions will become more powerful, and this character will have real growth in the end.

The ending part is over and over again, which is a bit of a logical problem. It is clear that Shenlong has already gone back to help the male protagonist realize his last wish, and he came back. After coming back, he said that there is another male protagonist's wish that has not been fulfilled, balabala...

The plot of the film is relatively simple, and there is nothing that needs special in-depth analysis. Can have a passing score! If you haven't seen it, you can.

Wish Dragon quotes

  • Long: Din!

    [looks around in confusion]

    Long: Whats happening?

    Pipa God: Welcome Longzhu.

Long: What's going on? Where am I?

Pipa God: Congratulations! Your service as a Wish Dragon is complete.

Long: Complete? But I haven't finished, I haven't finished my tenth master!

Pipa God: You have put the needs of another before yourself, and shown us that you understand the meaning of life. You are now free to enter the spirit world

[Spirite world doors open and trumpets sound and confetti sticks to Long]

    Long: Is that... a parade?

    [Smiles]

    Pipa God: In your honor.

Long: No no no! I can't! I have to go back!

    Pipa God: Back?

Long: Turn me back into a Wish Dragon, I have one more wish to grant!

Pipa God: Th-that's ridiculous, the laws of heaven forbid it.

Long: You're ridiculous! You're an old man in a skirt!

Pipa God: This isn't a skirt!

    Long: Send me back!

Pipa God: [Pipa God plays his instrument and the doors to the spirit world close and the parade disappears behind them] You dare reject the will of the Gods?

Long: Fine, if you won't send me back, I'll do it myself!

    [Starts digging into the clouds]

    Pipa God: Stop that!

Long: [Continues to dig into the clouds] Stupid clouds! Ah!

Pipa God: Stop! Stop that this instant!

Long: Ah! My friend needs me!

Pipa God: Fine! We will permit you to return, but only under one condition.
