incomprehensible

I have never understood why these people, who are also human, can do such things to their fellow citizens. I vaguely remember that Hitler was discriminated against or insulted by his Jewish classmates when he was a child. In short, he was treated unfairly, so he would treat them like this in the future, but how could one person's will control so many officers and soldiers to do this willingly for him? Even if the military orders are like mountains, can you do things against your will? What's more, these German officers and soldiers are still very willing to enjoy doing this? Nazi behavior is beyond my common sense and understanding. It can only be said that they are not normal people.

"Film is closely related to reality, and reality has nothing to do with representation.) The highest level of creation is the height of thought, and mise-en-scene montages are clouds. (Serge Daney described "Night and Fog" as follows:" When I was twelve or thirteen years old, watching this film was like a heavy blow. This short film tells us that the existence of movies, the existence of concentration camps, the existence of evil, and the existence of people, we have never forgotten.”)

The film uses video recordings to review, without tracing the reasons, to show all aspects of the miniature city of Auschwitz concentration camp in all aspects. It does not need to be large and empty, only uses video facts to speak, and the explanation is concise and not redundant, in the process of slowly unfolding the panorama Here, to impress people who don't know the truth about the Nazis and don't know how to hate them. For ordinary people living in peaceful times, this is a powerful dose, and every frame will make your back shiver.

Night and Fog quotes

  • Récitant/Narrator: With our sincere gaze we survey these ruins, as if the old monster lay crushed forever beneath the rubble. We pretend to take up hope again as the image recedes into the past, as if we were cured once and for all of the scourge of the camps. We pretend it happened all at once, at a given time and place. We turn a blind eye to what surrounds us and a deaf ear to humanity's never-ending cry.

  • Récitant/Narrator: 1933 - The machine gets under way. The nation must all sing the same song, with no wrong notes.
