Han Mei temporarily drew the birthmark on her son's chest for the second female Xueping, and asked her to find the second male Wei Fang, which reminded me of Duan Wangye in "East and West Achievement" in which he smashed his chest all over the street to find someone with a heart. But one strikes me as hilarious and one strikes me as ridiculous.
The female No. 2 with a bitter face in the whole film shouted to Yu Xiulian, a victim of the feudal etiquette marriage system, "He (Meng Sizhao) has been waiting for you for the rest of your life", obviously hiding from low self-esteem, okay? Meng Sizhao feels that she is not worthy of Yu Xiulian, can't she cancel the engagement first and then feign death? Don't you know "Widowhood"? Also, what is the logic behind waiting for a lifetime to be together? Andy Lau must marry Yang Lijuan? In the end, Yu Xiulian and Meng Sizhao were together. Did Meng Sizhao feel that after Li Mubai died, he would be worthy of Yu Xiulian, or did the director want to praise the success of the feudal etiquette marriage system?
After watching the entire film, the only thing that I think is better than Director Ang Lee is the Mandarin of the leading actors.
